BTS Gold Line Bangkok Train

The BTS Gold Line is the only train route connecting the ICONSIAM shopping mall with Bangkok city. As the shopping mall is located on the western bank of the Chao Phraya River in the less frequently visited part of the city, reaching it by public transportation was quite complicated before opening the Gold Line. The best option for getting to ICONSIAM until then was by one of the Bangkok river ferries that might not be suitable for everyone. Now the shopping mall can be reached by easily transferring between train lines instead of getting on a boat, even if this option is still available for the ones who like a more adventurous way of traveling around the cities.

The Bangkok Gold Line is managed by the same company that operates the BTS Green Line, but it is not an integrated part of the main BTS system, so ticketing is separate. You can simplify the process of traveling on BTS Green Line and Gold Line by purchasing a BTS Rabbit card, which can be booked online and conveniently picked up at the airport on arrival.
